〜Biały, white, blanc…　白くて、白くて、白い・・・〜

The other day, I wrote about the pink lilacs in my neighbor’s garden.  Then, a very important friend of mine from abroad sent me a beautiful image of white lilacs.  She often sends me beautiful photos and fun videos to soothe my heart.  

The white zantedeschia in my garden is what caught my attention when I opened the window soon after getting up.  And the white moth was somehow on the door of my entrance.

Here I wrote “innocent memories from blossom of youth”, namely, the flower language of white lilacs.

And my sincerest hope is peaceful world be realized.

先日ご近所のお庭のピンクのライラックのことを書きましたが、海外の大事な友人から綺麗な白のライラックの写真が送られてきました。彼女は私の気分を癒すために、よく綺麗な写真や楽しいビデオを送ってくださいます。

白のカラーは朝起きて窓を開けたとき、ふと目についたもので、白い蛾はどういうものか、玄関のドアにとまっていたものです。

ここでは白のライラックの花言葉である「無邪気な青春の思ひで」を書きました。

そして願うのは平和な世界の実現です。

I searched for some words that depict early summer scene and found this one.  Apparently, it means “Both heaven and earth are swept and cleansed to the utmost limit by willow wands”.

〜Season proceeds quickly　すぐ暑くなる予感〜

We have been enjoying a pleasant weather these several days.  The changing of the seasons, however, seem to be gathering speed.  Particularly, spring season seems to go much quicker than it used to, and then the fall does.  

Incidentally, the picture stand I use here is from a paperer called Kobaido.

この何日間はいい気分の天候です。けれども、このところ「春」が、それから「秋」が短くなっていくようで、しかもとりわけ春が昔よりも早く行ってしまう気がします。

〜Where and how you travel　他にも道々が〜

Responding to a request, I wrote “道” meaning “road, way” and what not the other day.  After that, however, an idea came to me that this person was thinking another character meaning the same.  And so, the photo shows other letters that mean “road or way” and what not.  In addition to these, I found many other characters that mean the same.

先日、リクエストに応える形で「道」を書きましたが、もしかするとこの方は他の字を思っておられたかもしれないなとふと思い当たりました。

それで道の意味の別の漢字です。けれども「道」の意味の漢字は他にもたくさん出てきます。

〜Overjoyed but a little mystified  飾っていただきました〜

Responding to my request for a letter or a word, someone, an excellent tarot reader, gave a hiragana, one character from the Japanese phonetic alphabet system, “ま”, namely the initial letter of her name.

To my extreme happiness, she liked this calligraphy of mine and offered to buy it.  It is now displayed in her salon.

Now I feel I am on top of the world to see a pretty lady bought my calligraphy that I myself think to be a good one.

Here is one more really intriguing thing.  I used a brush of swan feathers for this one.  Then later, I learned this lady is connected with swans probably at “soul level”, that is.

お好きな字や語を教えてくださいとお願いしたら、ひらがなの「ま」を挙げてくださったタロットリーディングの達人がいました。お名前の頭文字です。

そうしたら、この書を気に入ってお買い上げくださり、サロンに飾ってくださいました。綺麗な方のところに、自分でも綺麗に書けたかなと思う字が貰われていって、とても幸せです。

更にもう一点、不思議だと思ったのは、これは白鳥の羽根の筆で書きましたが、この方は「白鳥」とご縁が深いそうです。恐らく、魂のレベルにおいて。

〜Name for the May full moon　今度はお花いろいろ〜

According to the Native Americans’ tradition of giving a name to each month’s full moon, the name for the April full moon is Pink Moon, because the time is early spring when many pink flowers highlight fields and hills.

Then for the May full moon that is coming tomorrow, the name is simply the“flower moon” because the time is for various flowers blooming in profusion.

I love this Chinese character expressing “flower” in any style.

各月の満月に名前が付いているというネイティブアメリカンの伝統では、4月の満月は春先のピンク色のお花を表す「ピンクムーン」でした。

明日の5月の満月はいろいろのお花が咲き乱れる時期なので、そのものズバリの「花の月」だそうです。

「花」という字が好きです。どの書体でも。

〜Various flower languages  楽しい！〜

I have looked for quite a few flower languages so far, but that was just to look for motifs for my calligraphy.

However, this one amuses me very much for its joyful image and it exactly reflect the flowers figure, both their shape and color.

“Dance with me”, one of the flower languages for butterfly orchid flowers.

ただ、書の題材にと考えて、これまでたくさんの花言葉を調べてみましたが、これは本当に楽しいものですし、形も色もお花の姿にぴったりだと思うのです。

As the Lixia period of about two weeks started on May 5th, we are now about halfway through it.

Here is a contemporary haiku about this period of beginning of

the summer.
