Unfortunately, we are having rainy weather today but these days we have been enjoying beautiful blue sky of autumn season.

A single piece of cloud/

〜Season proceeds quickly　すぐ暑くなる予感〜

We have been enjoying a pleasant weather these several days.  The changing of the seasons, however, seem to be gathering speed.  Particularly, spring season seems to go much quicker than it used to, and then the fall does.  

Incidentally, the picture stand I use here is from a paperer called Kobaido.

この何日間はいい気分の天候です。けれども、このところ「春」が、それから「秋」が短くなっていくようで、しかもとりわけ春が昔よりも早く行ってしまう気がします。

なお、ここで使用している写真たては、古梅堂さんに分けてもらったものです。

〜Hoping to proceed to quintessential fall days 今日から十月〜

Today marks the first day of October, and I somehow felt like writing two modern haikus about the months of September and October.

今日から10月ですので、何とはなしに9月と10月を詠んだ現代俳句を書いてみました。

Shoulder-width apart/

〜Two haikus 風の通り道〜

Two modern haikus about autumn wind.  I chose these because I felt the weather has become a little agreeable, however, it is still too hot in the daytime.

.

秋風を詠った現代俳句を二句。少し過ごしやすくなってきましたので選びましたが、日中はまだ暑過ぎる感じで。

.

Cluster of cosmoses maybe a gateway/

Of winds/

.

I want a telescope/

That observes autumn breeze/

.

〜Two poems 曼珠沙華〜

I wrote two poems about cluster‐amaryllises; one is from ancient China and the other is a haiku.  The Chinese one emphasizes the flowers’ redness; and the haiku says the scene of the flowers in the field is the author’s earliest remembered scene.

曼珠沙華を詠った漢詩と俳句です。漢詩ではその花の赫さを詠い、俳句はその風景が自分の原風景だと詠っています。

〜Insects’ chirping 聴覚にも秋〜

As it gets dark, loud sound of insects is heard, so loud that it makes me wonder if they are inside my house.  I searched on the internet to see if Chinese people enjoy the sound of insects’ chirping as well as we do and found this line.  Apparently, it means “loud sound of insects is echoing in the inner garden” which my house doesn’t have.  I wrote a passage from a children’s song of the sound of autumn insects, as well.

暗くなると庭から虫の声が賑やかに聞こえます。部屋の中に入ってきているのかしらと思うぐらいに賑やかに。中国の人も秋の虫の声を楽しむのかなと考えて調べてみたら、この一節が見つかりました。「中庭では虫の声がにぎやかに木霊している」という意味のようです。うちには中庭とかありませんが。それから秋の虫の声を歌った子供の歌です。

〜Gazing at each other 一方的ではない〜

The season of chrysanthemums has arrived and I searched a haiku about the flower for calligraphy material.  There were so many and I found this one very intriguing for the poet’s mindset.

菊の季節到来ということで、菊の俳句を探しました。たくさんある中で、これは発想が面白いと思いました。

.

My face is being gazed/

White mums, yellow mums/

〜First coolness 早く来ないかな〜

“First coolness of autumn” is a beautiful, pleasant expression.  However, just as described in this haiku, it will take a little more time for us to enjoy it.

「新涼」は美しい言葉ですが、この句のように、まだもう少し待つことになるようです。

〜Butterflies 暑いのか涼しいのか〜

It has become a little cooler in the early morning and evening.  However, it is still pretty hot in the daytime hours, and I just hope the weather would advance a little faster.

.

朝夕は涼しくなってきているようで、日中はまだまだ暑くて、もうちょっと早く季節が進んでほしいなと思うのです。

.

〜Autumn appears in the sky first 秋の雲〜

Just as this haiku says the clouds in the fall sky are often attractive when flowing away and transforming.

.

この句にあるように、秋の空にある雲は、流れていったり形が変わっていったりするのが面白くて心が惹かれるものです。
