These days many new flowers are found at a flower shop. Yesterday, this one, a Curcuma, intrigued me very much. And I learned its flower language is “I am intoxicated with your figure”.

While surfing on the net, I found an interesting shrine, where divine messengers, Dragon and Hare are enshrined. In addition, the shrine is located in a town where some of my relatives used to live, which made me feel nostalgic.
Thus, the image shows my calligraphy of two phrases with Dragon (right) and Hare (left).

The solar term for about five days from today is this, which means it is the time when fireflies come out of the grass and begin dancing with the flashing. Apparently, in the old days, people believed fireflies are born out of decayed grass. I am not sure if they were romantic or optimistic.

Because I love hydrangeas, I searched for a poem on the flower as a material for calligraphy and found this. It is a passage from a poem by Bai Juyi, a poet during the Tang dynasty. I learned it means “Although you exist in this world, no one knows you. I will give this name to you.”

紫陽花が好きなので、何か書きたいなと思って探したら、この詩が見つかりました。白居易の詩の一節で、「この世にいるのに誰も知らない。君に紫陽花という名を与える」という意味だそうです。

The phrase actually is “one heart” or “one mind”. Because this is my favorite expression, I often choose this one as material for my creation. Honestly, I am not sure, however, what it actually means. Am I right to think it means “concentration of the mind” or “a mind specifically dedicated to one thing” as the characters show?
