〜Gifts　なかなか会えない友よ〜

These are my calligraphic works I would like to give to my long-time valued friend.  She had always been good to me and was really good to my late mother in her last days.  Thus, I would like to give these to her as a token my great thankfulness but it is too difficult for us to meet in person at the moment.

Unfortunately, the package I sent to my friends abroad last summer was returned to me.  I wonder how it could properly be sent.

〜Delightful thank-you gifts　我が名は、知櫻〜

I received wonderful thank-you gifts from a very good friend who I sent a small box of chocolate to last month.  What made me this happy is that I found so many “cherry blossoms” in the big box, only a part of which is in the photo.  My name as a calligrapher has the letter 櫻 or cherry, cherry tree or cherry blossom, in it.

先月ちょっとしたチョコレートを送っておいた友人から嬉しい返礼品が届きました。大きな箱の中には「桜」がたくさん入っていました。写真に写っているのはほんの一部分です。とてもハッピーです。私の雅号は、知櫻ですから。

〜Delightful gifts  焼き菓子〜

I quite suddenly received a variety of gifts; baked goods, meat boiled down in soy, rice crackers and what not.  There was nothing special about the day.  Only, she sends me something good and special from time to time.

〜Most precise flower languages 　白いアザレア〜

These white azaleas are from my very important friend who could be called my soul mate.  She meant them for the memory of my late mother.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out the flower languages of white azaleas suit really well to this scene.

〜Dear friend いつもありがとう〜

I wrote these for a long-time good friend.  She was very considerate of my mother in her late life.  Although many years have passed since we first met, she still sends me seasonal gifts.  These are to express thankfulness to her for those presents and wishing good fortune in the future for both of us, I used votive picture tablets as material.

〜Good fortune symbol　 末廣がり〜

I did these as gifts to be enclosed in a letter to someone.  For, people usually associate folding fans with good luck because they spread out wide toward the end.
