〜Moon poem　百人一首の短歌〜

This tanka poem (traditional form of Japanese poetry composed of 31 syllables) is included in the classical Japanese anthology of one hundred Japanese tanka by one hundred poets.  It is about someone who disappeared in a flash after re-encountering, compared to the moon that appears in the night sky but vanishes into the clouds at once.

〜More harvest　茗荷もこんなに〜

This post is about my friend’s garden once again and how it produces an abundance of crops.  It is believed that Japanese mioga ginger is generally harvested in high summer.  According to my friend, however, this year the vegetable-picking season had been a little delayed, and as the photo shows there was such a rich harvest this time of year.  As a mioga ginger lover, I wondered the instant I saw this photo how much they would charge if the vegetable were sold at a supermarket.

〜Cluster amaryllises and a butterfly　秋の色〜

I love the color of the spider lilies.  I took a photo of the flowers and discovered a butterfly also appeared in the shot.

〜Fans my mom liked　やっぱりまだ暑い〜

Even though it is already October, it still doesn’t feel cool at all.  I used a number of fans as materials for my calligraphy.  My mother liked them and used them so often that they now look really worn out.

〜Venue of my exhibition in June　来年は何を〜

The photo shows the venue of my exhibition marking my 70th birthday held in June this year, which was taken by a professional photographer at my request.  Now, I am wondering what I should do next year.  I don’t think there is anything to commemorate “70th + one”.

〜Four-character idiom on a fan　行雲流水〜

I have written four-character idioms on a square, thick sheet of paper many times, but this time I wrote one on a folding paper that I saw casually.  I think it suggests everything changes all the time I am not quite sure, though.
