〜Silly fighting　ツノ出せ、ヤリ出せ〜

I happened to find this passage that means “For what purpose do people fight on a small place like horns of a snail?”  Apparently, it refers to fighting over pointless, small matters from a broader perspective.

This idea must be meaningful.  Still, sometimes seeing through a position of people actually involved, you can’t make comments so lightly.

Remembering variety of events that happened when I was young, I can’t help thinking like the above.

「蝸牛角上争何事」ふと見つけた一節です。

「かたつむりの角のような小さな狭い場所で、（人々は）いったい何を争っているのか」という意味で、大局から見ると意味のないような小さい事柄で争うことを言うようですが、実際に関わっている人からすれば、時としてことはそんなに簡単ではない。

若い頃のことを思い出すと尚更そう考えるのです。

〜Modest happiness　そんなのは嫌だ〜

Fruits of solanum jasminoides I sometimes find at florist shops have attracted my attention these days.  Thus, I checked its flower language and the first one I found was “modest happiness”.  I definitely love to have a GREAT happiness, though.

〜Entire poem　四季の歌〜

The other day, I wrote one passage from an ancient Chinese poem, which is actually the second line of an entire poem on the four seasons.

Four seasons

In spring, snowmelt water fills the swamps all over

In summer, banks of clouds of different figures are everywhere

In autumn, bright moon rise in midheaven

In winter, a single pine tree stands out on a mountain peak

This is the seasonal phrase for the period of about five days starting today and it means “big rain sometimes falls”.  I think people in Kyoto could use a brief hard shower since it has been extremely hot.
