The clouds often are likened to happiness.  However, I didn’t understand what caused this imagination until I saw clouds from the plane window on my way to a faraway foreign land last fall.  Clouds look like they outwell one after another, which may make people think and hope the clouds are like outwelling happiness.

It is a long tradition to have seven-herb porridge for breakfast on January 7th.  I have always liked this custom but this year I tried to find English words for those herbs for the first time in my life.

After the new year begins, I have been remembering past things.  Is this just because I am getting older?  The photo shows one of the works of some relics by Pink Floyd displayed in my first solo exhibition held fifteen years ago.

The first calligraphy practice of the year is often performed on January 2.

I chose a term I happened to see on a prop of a TV drama, which apparently means, “You will see a vast blue sky after overcoming difficulties and trials”.  However, I am not sure if I had gone through such a difficult time in the first place.

書き初めにはたまたまTVドラマで見かけた語を書きました。「困難や試練を乗り越えた先には青い空が広がっている」との意味らしいですが、そもそも私はそんなに苦労したことがあるかなぁと思うのですね。
