〜See you next year!　大晦日のご挨拶〜

Thank you very much for all your great help this year.  Last month, I could perform activities as a calligrapher in a foreign country I visited for the first time in six years.  I pay my heartfelt respects and gratitude to all those who kindly supported this precious experience to be realized.

〜Year-end cleaning up　年末恒例〜

Several days ago, I thought I would finish year-end cleaning up a little earlier than usual.  However, I gave it up before my house was immaculate.

A fortune-telling article in a women’s magazine said lucky foods for the new year for those with the same year-fortune as I are sushi, chicken, and bluefish, all of which I love.  I hope those who read this post will remember this.

〜Last full moon　異国で見た満月〜

Tonight’s moon is the full moon in Cancer.  The full moon I saw in a foreign land looked exceedingly big.

The photos show my calligraphy of a passage from an ancient Chinese poem and a modern haiku both with a theme of the moon.

〜Moving clouds and flowing water　常に動く〜

Clouds moving in the sky and constantly flowing water are symbols of mindset and behavior that are free from profound attachment to things and people.  In other words, what my innate qualities lack.  But I can’t help it.  I just don’t forget.

〜Last week of the year　いつの間にか〜

Before I was aware, this is the last week of the year.  After I began having this idea in some vague manner, the idea grew day after day, and as a result, I actually went on an overseas journey for the first time in six years.  Then, this day when “only one week is left for this year” came.

〜Overviewing this year　今年のまとめ〜

The term of my work, apparently, is often translated as “Why only two without three?”  The most important thing that happened to me this year was visiting a faraway country for the second time and meeting an important friend there again.  I really wish there would be a third time, and somehow, I have this happy divination that this wish would come true. Actually, already on the flights to the destination, I was thinking that the third time might come true.
