It is not very stylish to write “summer” in the summer season.  I am fully aware of that, but many good and happy things happened this summer, so I just couldn’t help but want to write it.  By the way, what is written in light ink is the ancient script of the character.

夏に「夏」と書くのはおしゃれではありません。そんなことは解っていますが、この夏はいいこと、嬉しいことがいくつも起こりましたので、つい書きたくなりました。ついでながら、薄墨で書いているのは、この字の昔の形です。
