〜Rose in winter season　素敵な言葉〜

I hear 冬薔薇 or “rose in winter” is an official season word in haiku society.  I had always thought it was a lovely phrase for sure, and from time to time I actually find a typical rose to the meaning of the term that is “an obscure rose in the desolate wintry scene and not a gorgeous one grown under glass.

It still holds/

Though it is decaying/

Rose in winter/

冬薔薇は冬の季語のようで、確かに素敵な言葉だと思っていましたが、その意味付けの通りの冬のバラは本当にあるのだなと思いました。つまり、温室で育てられ立派に咲いた花ではなく、冬枯れの中にぽつりと咲き出したバラの花を見かけることがあるのです。

〜Poem about nuts  可愛く書きたくて〜

I learned this passage from an old Chinese poem is about tree nuts in autumn and so I tried to express cuteness, which I hope works.

〜Daffodils open　金盞香〜

This is the seasonal wording for five days from today.  Thinking about it, I see little daffodils beginning to grow in the well-tended gardens.  I don’t think I have already seen blooms yet, though.

〜Children’s welfare　親の願い〜

Around this time of year, we see many nicely dressed parents and relatives with dressed up children in all the shrines.  For, this is the time for Shichi-Go-San festival when people celebrate the growth of children.  It takes place on or around November 15.
