〜Cute, little lantern-shaped flower 　チロリアンランプ〜

A friend of mine who always grows a wide variety of flowers sent me a photo of this cute, vibrantly colored bloom.  It seems to have several Japanese names, but in the gardening society, it is known as the “Tyrolean Lamp.”

It has several flower languages, but because the flower appears to hang its head slightly, some interpretations associate it with a noblewoman.  So, I wrote a story based on a tale featuring a noblewoman that I had an AI generate, with a few minor revisions.

いつもたくさんの種類のお花を育てている友人から、こんな可愛いくて、鮮やかな色のお花の画像が送られてきました。和名がいくつかあるようですが、園芸の世界の人たちにはチロリアンランプという名前で知られているそうです。

花言葉はいくつもあるようですが、お顔が俯きかげんに見えることから、貴婦人を連想する花言葉もあるそうです。そこで、AIに作ってもらった貴婦人をモチーフにした物語を基にして少し修正した物語を書きました。

〜Gentle winter sunlight haiku　余白の美〜

This haiku expresses the sign that soon, many beautiful Japanese apricot blossoms will flourish here on the tree, although you don’t actually find any at the moment.  You can say that it captures the Japanese sensibility of perceiving something not yet visible but already felt.  The image is from a friend who often shares beautiful photos of her garden.  Though only a few blossoms appear now, the tree’s appearance somehow “reveals” that it will soon be in full bloom.

梅の花はまだ咲いていなくても、いずれ近いうちにここにはたくさんの美しい梅花が咲き誇るという予感を詠んだ俳句で、実際にはまだ見えていないけれど、感じられるという日本人の感性が詠まれている俳句のようです。

画像はいつも綺麗なお庭の写真をくれる友人からもらったもので、今はまだ少ししか咲いていないけれど、いずれ満開になることが、ある意味見えている梅の木の様子です。

〜Vast landscape　美しい馬〜

My friend, who travels all over the world, has finally reached Cappadocia in Turkey.  Apparently, Cappadocia originally meant “land of beautiful horses.”  She says that Turkish horses aren’t stocky like Mongolian horses, but more like thoroughbreds.  Here is a poem that describes and praises beautiful horses.

世界中を旅する友人は、ついにトルコ・カッパドキアにも進出。カッパドキアは元々「美しい馬の地」という意味なのだそうですが、彼女によると、トルコの馬は、モンゴルの馬のようにずんぐりしていなくて、サラブレッド的なのだそうです。美しい馬を讃えた詩を書きました。
