〜Snowy scenery　また行きたいけれど〜

The photos sent from a special friend in a faraway country show a kind of overwhelming snowy scenery.  I hope to revisit the place to meet her.  However, I want to choose a warmer season when lots of greenery will be seen.

For luncheon with a friend, we had okonomiyaki, or a kind of savory pizza with lots of cabbage, other ingredients, and flour mixed, which many of the Kansai people love.

〜Beautiful name　梅見月〜

This is “Ume, Japanese plum viewing month”, another name for February, which I find very beautiful.  The Ume branch with several buds is from the garden of a friend.

〜Conversation topic among kanji lovers　画数の多い字〜

I remember watching this kanji Chinese character covered on TV a couple of times because of its large number of strokes, and it represents only one kind of noodle dish.  Recently, I happened to find out that a friend who is a kanji lover was very interested in it.

〜End-of-the-year party haiku　一足だけ残っていたら嫌だ〜

I learned that “a year-end party” can be a seasonal word in the haiku society.  You will find many haiku with this word with just a little searching.  This one, however, is somewhat weird and caught my attention.

The photos show homemade fests by one of my friends who is an excellent cook.

〜Tasty pies　さすがに手作り〜

My special friend treated me to her homemade pies.  She shaped them to look like people’s faces, and they looked somewhat funny.  However, plenty of dried strawberries were inside them, and I appreciated the extravagance and good taste.

One of my longtime friends sent me a text of her little daughter’s poem from her heart. Finding that very intriguing, I wrote it.
Winter vacation
On the table with a heater underneath/
Lots of tangerines and homework/
Oh, how I wish I had had solved the questions/
On the past day that would never come back/
旧い友人が、お嬢ちゃんの心の叫びを送ってきてくれました。面白いなと思ってそれを書きました。

Thai　I want to meet distant relatives who I seldom get to meet.

Poland　I want to meet my special friend.
