〜Red spider lily　魅力的な華〜

This kind of flower attracts my heart because they look gorgeous but at the same time, they seem fragile and fleeting.  When I finally began wondering if they were not blooming this year, they began opening here and there quite suddenly altogether.  And soon they go withered.

〜Dews on the ground and grass　寒露〜

About two weeks starting a couple of days ago is the season of “cold dews”.  It is the time of year when nights are getting longer and the dews feel colder.  We will be having more chilly mornings and evenings.  However, the air becomes clearer and we will enjoy seeing all the more beautiful moon.

The other day, when I arrived at my friend’s house very tiredly, she offered me some chocolate quite unexpectedly.  I truly felt happy and delighted.

Only one piece of chocolate makes my day.

〜Self-reliance　理想はこれですが〜

Self-reliant way of living.  I am certain that this should be the ideal attitude for living as a person, however, looking back on my life, I just can’t help noticing that in the first part of my life, I totally relied on my parents and even after that, I couldn’t have survived until now without lots of helps from various kinds of people around me.

〜Always there　母が好きだった木〜

There is a maqui tree at the entrance of my house that my late mother loved and treasured.  Someone told me this kind of tree is considered auspicious, which is why my mother valued it.  However, I am really not sure if she knew the trees’ reputation.

〜Solar term　水始涸〜

This is the seasonal phrase or solar term for about five days starting today, which does not mean that the water in the rice paddies goes dry as you may imagine from the letters, but actually, it means for the preparation of harvesting rice, the farmers drain the paddies around this time of year.

今日から5日間ほどの七十二候で、字面からすると、田んぼの水が涸れてしまうという意味のようですが、実際には稲穂の刈り入れの準備のために、田んぼの水を落とす頃だとの意味のようです。
