〜Request from a long-time friend 雅〜

In response to my request for a favorite character or word, a long-time friend of mine from high school days suggested 雅 or gracefulness, elegance or refinement.  I thought for a little while how to write this letter and I tried three versions, using three different brushes and three different amounts of impregnated water.

お好きな字や言葉を教えてくださいとのお願いに、高校時代からの古い友人が「雅」を挙げてくれました。どういうふうに書こうかしらと少し考えて、3種類の筆、3つの水の含ませ方で三つ書いてみました。

〜Winter gifts　お洒落なマスクもいっぱい〜

The photo shows gifts from my long-time good friend from high school days and her pretty daughter.

Masks are just what I wanted right now and, moreover, they look so stylish!  In the envelope I found other cute, delightful things and a card.  Supreme winter gifts!  I have no idea how to express my happiness of receiving the presents.

写真は、高校時代からの長年のいい友人と彼女の綺麗な娘さんから届いたものです。

マスクはちょうど今欲しかったもので、しかもとてもお洒落！

封筒には他にも可愛い素敵なものとカードが入っていました。この季節の最高の贈り物です。これを受け取ったときどんなに嬉しかったかは言葉では言えないぐらいです。

〜Appealing photo 　センスの良さ〜

Someone that liked my small piece sent me some photos to show how she is displaying my little one even sent me yet another image, which evokes the artistic quality of my work even more.  The photo renewed my perception of how important presentation is when displaying artistic works.  And I admire her excellent sense of exhibition.

私の小さな作品を気に入ってくださった上に、それを飾っておられる写真を送ってくださった方が、更に魅力的な画像を送ってきてくださいました。私の書が更に良く見えます。飾り方が大事なのだと今更ながら思いました。この方のセンスは本当に素晴らしい。
