〜Related to the Imperial Family　既に新緑〜

In the bus tour I took the other day, we were supposed to enjoy blossoms on a tree that is said to be 650 years old in the famous temple related to the Imperial Family.  However, the flowers have already fallen and the tree was full of fresh green leaves.

Double-flowered cherry blossoms/

On weeping forms of trees/

Just like being in an unidentified flying object/

〜Highlight of the tour　トロッコ列車〜

I took a bus tour to enjoy riding a trolley train for sightseers and visiting a temple that is well-known but lacks traffic facilities.

〜Characters for “fragrance”　基本の書体〜

〜Easter haiku　昨日だったのですね〜

Although yesterday was Easter, I learned, this event doesn’t seem to take hold in this country.  People often say that it is simply because settling the date is difficult.  However, springlike brightness is undoubtedly beginning to cover the world.  Slight chillness still remains in the early morning, though.

昨日はイースターだったようですが、この行事は日本にはなかなか根付きません。単純に、日付けの決め方が難しいからだとはよく言われることです。けれども、確かに春らしい明るさは強くなってきています。早朝はまだ少し肌寒いですが。

〜Seasonal phrase　昔の作品〜

The seasonal wording for about five days with today as the middle day is “玄鳥至”, which means “swallows come with the spring season”.  And this phrase reminded me of my first solo exhibition held at the beginning of 2009.  The photo shows a part of my work displayed at the event that contains this word, “玄鳥 or swallow”.

今日を中日とした5日間ほどの七十二候は「玄鳥至」で、春とともに燕がやってくるとの意味だそうです。この語句を見たときに、2009年初頭に開いた初めての個展を思い出しました。写真はその個展で飾ってもらった額の一部で、この「玄鳥」という語が出てきます。
