A friend of mine who is a very good cook brought me some really tasty sushi. According to some dictionaries, the English translation for this kind of sushi is “scattered sushi”. However, this translation doesn’t sound good to me. I myself used to enjoy cooking variety of foods and sweets when young, but while I was engaged in looking after my old parents, I gradually stopped cooking elaborate dishes.

Yesterday I wrote about delightful chocolate gift, a Western kind of sweets, from my friend. And today, this is about sakuramochi or a cherry flavored soft sweet rice cake, a Japanese kind of sweet stuff.
