〜Bailu 　秋の二十四節気〜

Today marks the first day of Bailu, one of the 24 two-week periods of the solar terms.  The term literally means “white dew”, seemingly a cool and refreshing image.  However, as a matter of fact it is just like the mid-summer days in the daytime.

〜Light-hearted, always　初対面のお花〜

We keep finding new kinds of flowers one after another at flower shops.  And it is surely interesting to look for their flower languages.  Obviously, the flower is called “frost aster” and its flower language is “being delightful all the time”.

Yes.  This is “fighting spirit” as you clearly see.  I am well aware I must be full of it.  However, it seems fatigue from this summer’s terrible heat would not go away easily.

I am well aware that there are modern kind of cute calligraphic art pieces.  However, I am not very tempted to produce that kind of works.  Instead, I would like to suggest my authentic kind of calligraphic work like this one be shown just casually, for instance, in your living room.

〜Kind of makeup　艶やかな語〜

The flower’s Japanese name literally is “face powder flower” because little girls use the white powder found inside the seeds pretending it as face powder.  I found another name for the flower, “evening makeup”, a somewhat amorous name.

小さな女の子たちは、種の中の白い粉を白粉（おしろい）のように使って遊ぶので、「おしろい花」の名前があります。ちょっと調べてみたら、「夕化粧」という艶っぽい名前も出てきました。

I wrote this letter “渚” or “beach” because I heard it was someone’s favorite.  As a matter of fact, it is a lovely letter that blows up your romantic images.  And I was well persuaded why she loves it.
