
Even though, it is already September, the noisy cicada chorus in the nearby woods doesn’t seem to end. I wonder if it is because of the cicadas’ biology that they only have a very short time in the adult stage that a poet might make this kind of haiku, which might be associated with death.

9月に入っても裏の森の蝉時雨はなかなか止みません。蝉は成虫になってからの寿命が短いから、こんな死を感じさせるような俳句が詠まれるのでしょうか。
