This is the ancient character for “to walk,” which is believed to express the shapes of the tracks of the right foot and the left foot. I love this character, as I find it very cute. Because I haven’t been doing enough exercise, I think I must walk a lot at least. However, I haven’t done that yet due to this very bad cold.

I think my late mother used to pick up artemisia leaves just as nothing special to make tansy and other desserts. I hear this kind of plant has robust vitality. We could easily find the plants on the footpaths between rice fields, hills and fields around mother’s house for sure.

Recently, I was fortunate to get acquainted with two people whose names have the kanji character 柚 (yuzu citrus). I think the character is charming in both its literal meaning and its connotation.
