This four-character idiom apparently means “walking majestically alone between heaven and earth”.

This work will be displayed at my solo exhibition.

〜I have always wanted this　才気煥発〜

This four-character idiom says “Talented and quick-witted, and apparently it extends to mean that the brain has been working wonderfully and actively.  And this state of brilliance shines forth one after another without ceasing.”, which is nothing but what I have always wanted.  This piece will be on display at my solo exhibition, so please visit the venue to see it.

この四字熟語が意味するのは、「頭脳の働きがすばらしく活発であること。 次から次へと絶え間なく才気が輝き現れるさま」だそうですが、まさに私がずっと欲しいと思っているものです。この色紙も個展で飾りますので、見に来てください。

〜Here is another smiling face　笑顔で〜

When I asked a very talented young woman what her favorite word was, she instantly answered “Smiling face”.  So, I wrote the word and asked it to be made into a wall scroll.  This one will be displayed at my solo exhibition.

〜East wind brings spring　一気に挽回〜

The term means the east wind brings springtime to the world, which apparently means everything turns good instantly from a negative situation.

I wrote a poem titled “Moonlit night” by Du Fu, a famous poet from the eighth century China.  This will be shown at my exhibition.

〜Exhibitions last year　 10年以上前の体力〜

The photos show my kanji Chinese character work exhibited in Kyoto and Tokyo on a touring exhibition.  Actually, I wrote this one just ten years before that but didn’t have many opportunities to be seen.  Now, I want vigor and stamina enough to create pieces like this.

A little while ago, I visited a calligraphy exhibition specialized in kana or Japanese phonetic characters and there I received a gift of Japanese pickled vegetables, which made me really happy because I love them so much.

〜Fun, fun, fans!　 好きな字が次々と〜

I tried to clean up my house before, and now I am tidying my computer.  Then I found these photos of paper fans, which I remember I left as thank-you’s at a Buddhist temple that I was very fortunate to be allowed to use as a venue of the group exhibition held in July, 2015.  It is really enjoyable to see those characters I myself love.

家の中の物だけでなくて、パソコンの中のいろいろも整理しようと見てみたら、団扇の写真が出てきました。これは確か2015年7月のグループ展後に会場としてお借りしたお寺さんにお礼に置いてきた団扇の数々だったと思います。自分の好きな字を好きなように書いているのがおかしい。

In my message to the visitors at the calligraphy exhibition held in Poland in November 2017 which I was really fortunate to be allowed to participate in, I briefly mentioned “power of words” that is extremely intriguing to me.
