〜Here is another gift　立派なご活動〜

The lady I wrote about yesterday has been a primary school teacher for a long time, the experience of which I admire a lot.

She introduced my calligraphy to one of her distinguished friends who also has been active in a respectable activity for children for a long time.  She arranged a meeting with him for me during this visit to Poznań. The photo shows my gift to him.  I only hope he will like it!

昨日書きました知り合いは小学校の先生をずっと続けておられて、その長いご経験は素晴らしいと思います。

〜Preparation for the trip　お世話になっています〜

As it is now less than one week before my departure to Poznań, Poland, which I visited six years ago, I am getting increasingly excited, but the preparation doesn’t seem to make good progress.

The photo shows my gift to someone who I met in November 2017 there.  Since then, she has continued to give me mental support and sent me charming presents at times.

She highly appraises my calligraphy and has introduced it to a number of celebrities around her.  That is such a blessing for me.

いよいよ6年ぶりのポーランド国ポズナニ市へ旅行の出発まで1週間足らずとなり、気持ちはワクワクしていますが、準備はなかなか捗りません。

写真は、6年前の同じく11月にお目にかかってから、精神的に支えてくださり、ときに気の利いたプレゼントなどを送ってきてくださっている方へのお土産です。

彼女は私の書を評価してくださり、ご自分の周囲の著名な方々に私の書を紹介してくださっています。本当にありがたいことです。

〜New kind of flower, again　ぷっくりと可愛らしい〜

When I found an unfamiliar kind of flower at a florist again, the Bouvardia, I immediately bought a branch.  The flower petals are full and cute.  I looked for its flower languages and found they are “deep friendship” and others.  Because I am preparing to fly to my important friend I met six years ago, wishing to be closer, it is the best term.

お花屋さんでまたよく知らないお花（ブバリア）を見つけたので、一枝買いました。ふっくらした花びらが可愛らしいです。花言葉を調べると「親交」などが出てきます。今、6年前に知り合った友人に海を超えて会いに行き、更に親交を深めたいと思っているところですので、ぴったりの言葉です。

〜Such delightful presents　半年前にいただいていました〜

In fact, I received these chocolates about six months ago from a faraway country.  However, I have hesitated to write about them here because the sender seemed to be in a challenging time in her life, and all the news that came from the area where she lives is just so terrible.

The other day, when I arrived at my friend’s house very tiredly, she offered me some chocolate quite unexpectedly.  I truly felt happy and delighted.

Only one piece of chocolate makes my day.

〜Award for excellence　日本画展〜

I went to Kobe to visit a large-scale exhibition of Japanese-style paintings from the general public where a fantastic work by my long-time very good friend and awarded for excellence was displayed.

In that part of Japan, live my important relatives and a treasured friend from my college days.  Naturally, I would love to visit there more often, however, somehow in reality, I only get there once in a while.

高校時代からのとても良い友人が日本画の大きな公募展で優秀賞を獲得されましたので、神戸まで見学に行きました。

神戸といえば、大切な親戚や懐かしい学生時代の友もいるので、もっと行きたいのですけれど、なかなか行けません。

〜Citrus sudachi　いただき物〜

See these wilding Citrus sudachis, which I got from my longtime important friend and her daughter.  I heard they went into the hills and wild-crafted the fruits.  That is why they don’t look as neat as those lined up on the stands at supermarkets.  All the more, I am certain they would taste much stronger.

〜Autumn colored lift-the-flap card　紙のもみじ〜

This fantastic card came from one of my longtime friends.  So, I wrote the words of an old children’s song about autumn foliage.  The words describe the contrasting density of the leaves and how the leaves adorn the mountains and rivers.
