The solar term for about five days from today is this, which means it is the time when fireflies come out of the grass and begin dancing with the flashing.  Apparently, in the old days, people believed fireflies are born out of decayed grass.  I am not sure if they were romantic or optimistic.

今日からの５日間ほどの七十二候がこの「腐草為蛍」で、草の中から蛍が舞い、光を放ち始める頃という意味。昔は腐った草が蛍になると考えられていたそうですが、それは空想好きなのか楽観的なのか分かりません。
