Now, as the end of April is drawing near, we are having more warm days.  The haiku literally depicts young women’s legs growing longer, which I think, imply their healthy beauty.

The period of about two weeks starting today is designated as Guyu according to the twenty-four solar terms.  Accordingly, I wrote a Chinese poem and a haiku concerning this time year.

〜White little flowers　健気だな〜

It has become quite warm now.  It was raining on and off all day yesterday.  The tree of thunberg’s meadowsweet I saw just before getting home already has a lot of tiny, white flowers, which I found somewhat heroic.

Every time they swing/

〜Science fiction style　石二つ〜

I found this interesting haiku while reading a website.  I found it really interesting because it has some hint of science fiction that I love so much.  Moreover, it happened to occur while I was watching a science fiction movie whose motif was that more than one time zones existed in one spaceship.  

Obviously, this haiku has no season word, which is very rare.  For, “seasons” are expremely important in haiku world.

何かのページをみていたときに読んで面白いと思った俳句です。大好きな SF的だから。しかも、ちょうど異なる時間帯が一隻の宇宙船に存在するという映画をみていたときでした。

しかもこれは無季の句だそうです。とても例外的。

俳句は「季節」を重んじるものだから。

〜Ferris wheel in spring　ふわりと掬う〜

I can’t recall the last time I rode a Ferris wheel.  Because I hear these days there are a number of extraordinarily large ones, I strongly want to try one.  And one more thing, I wonder why some people feel so scared to ride Ferris wheels.

〜Vernal Equinox Day　春の季語〜

As today happens to mark the Vernal Equinox Day, I wrote two haikus about spring season.  I learned that the child’s plays such as “bubbles”, “seesaws”, “swings” and others are categorized as spring-time seasonal words in haiku world and that it is because when spring comes children start playing vigorously outside.  I thought haiku thinking is really interesting.

Incidentally, the drawstring pouches behind by calligraphy are beautiful works by Ootakoubou.

今日は春分の日でもありますし、春の俳句を書きました。シャボン玉やシーソーやブランコなど子どもの遊びは春の季語で、それは暖かくなって子どもたちが元気に外で遊ぶようになるからだそうです。俳句の季語は面白いものだと思いました。

〜Difficult issue to deal with　春は黄色〜

Flowers of mimosa, I hear, that in Italy represent beginning of spring and at the same time, a tradition of giving gifts to the close people, as well.  The day of the event, March 8th is officially designated as “International Women’s Day” in many countries.

However, I think how you regard “women” can substantially differentiate how you regard this “day”.

As I happened to find a fun modern haiku about the flower, I tried to express this amusingness with somewhat peculiar lines.

Mimosa branches swing/

ミモザのお花はイタリアでは春を告げると同時に、親しい人たちに贈り物をする伝統行事の象徴だそうです。その行事の日、つまり3月8日は国際婦人デーとして多くの国々で指定されているようです。

しかしながら、「女の人」をどう捉えるかによって、 この「日」の捉え方も大きく違ってくるかと思います。

ちょっと面白い現代俳句を見つけましたので、その面白さを表す線で書いてみました。
