Father’s Day and my birthday come around about the same time every year and this year they both are today.

My late mother used to cook a big meal around this time saying, “today is a double celebration of Father’s Day and Tomoko’s birthday.

Actually, on the table were only the dishes I loved.

今年はきっちり今日という日に重なりましたが、父の日と私の誕生日は毎年同じ頃にあります。

亡母はこの時期にはよく「今日は父の日と知子の誕生日の両方のお祝いやから」と言ってご馳走を作ってくれました。

実際の食卓には私の好物ばかりが並んでいましたが。
