
“Chorus of cicadas” is a seasonal word for summer in haiku society. The phrase describes the chorus of cicadas that seems to pour down from the trees. For Japanese people, it is a quintessential summer sound, but I have heard that people from abroad often find it difficult to relate to that sensation.
