〜Very well-known song  さくら、さくら〜

This is somewhat old piece of mine and I may be able to create something better now.  But yesterday I posted an entry about the cherry blossoms near my house, which kind of fueled me to post another one.  Its material is a very old Japanese song about cherry blossoms believed to have been composed around the end of Edo Period.

少し前に書いたもので、今ならもうちょっと上手に書けるような気もしますが、昨日桜について書きましたので、勢いに乗って、もう一つ投稿します。この古謡は江戸時代の終わり頃に作られたとされるようです。

〜Mother’s calligraphy and my haiku　母娘のコラボ〜

In this season of beautiful cherry blossoms, a lot of people post about the flowers.  So, I had a little thinking what I should do and then I decided I, too, would write about the flowers along the Takano River near my house.

The large letter, “桜 (cherry)” was done my late mother and the small letters are my own haiku about taking a walk together.

Petals of cherry blossoms dancing in the air/

Mother-daughter promenades/

Forever and ever/

Chio

桜の花のこの季節にはたくさんの人たちが桜について投稿しておられます。私はどうしようかしらと少し考えてから、家の近くの高野川沿いの桜のことを書こうと思いました。

「桜」の大きな字は亡母に書いてもらいました。小さい字は私の句です。
