Because a small forest and a stream are near my house, I have been used to hearing frogs croak since childhood.  And I was wondering how something like that could make a haiku, but after listening to the call of a Japanese tree frog online, it made perfect sense.

Oh, the river frog/

Its breathing/

Like white flowers/

うちの近くには森も小川もありますので、幼い頃からカエルの鳴き声なんて聞き慣れていました。それで、どうしてそんなものが俳句になるのかしらと少し不思議でしたが、ネットでカジカガエルの鳴き声を聞いて、なるほどなと思いました。
