I received a variety of gifts on this occasion from people of different relations, whom I gratefully got acquainted with at various aspects of my life. That is, some sent me emails and other kinds of messages, as well as desserts and drinks; some visited the venue in this heat; and others kindly helped prepare the event and clean up the venue afterward. And to my great happiness, potted gorgeous flowers were delivered to the site.
As I mentioned the other day, I decided to hold this event to express my sincere gratitude to my calligraphy teacher and his family, as well as my parents. However, looking back on the event, I realized how fortunate I have been to be surrounded by so many kind-hearted people who have been watching over and supporting me in my calligraphic activities with love.

この度は、私の人生のいろいろの時代にありがたくもお知り合いになったいろんな立場の友人・知人からさまざまな贈り物をいただきました。
メールなどのメッセージやスウィーツやお酒をお送りくださった方々や、お暑い中、古希展にお運びくださった方々や、その準備や後片付けにお力を貸してくださった方々もありました。また会場には立派なお花が届きました。
先日書きましように、これは書の師匠やそのご家族、それから私の両親などに感謝の気持ちを表すことを目的として開いた展でしたが、振り返ってみると、どれだけ多くの人たちが私と私の書家としての活動を見守って、応援してくださっていたのか、自分がどれほど恵まれているのかがよく分かりました。
写真は、毎年この時期に可愛い小物をプレゼントしてくださる方から届いた素敵な扇子です。
