I think my late mother used to pick up artemisia leaves just as nothing special to make tansy and other desserts.  I hear this kind of plant has robust vitality.  We could easily find the plants on the footpaths between rice fields, hills and fields around mother’s house for sure.

母は若かった頃、春先には当たり前のように蓬を摘んで、蓬餅などを作っていたのだと思います。蓬はとても生命力の強い植物だそうですが、確かに、母の実家近くの畦道や山や野には、当たり前のように生えていました。
