The clouds often are likened to happiness.  However, I didn’t understand what caused this imagination until I saw clouds from the plane window on my way to a faraway foreign land last fall.  Clouds look like they outwell one after another, which may make people think and hope the clouds are like outwelling happiness.

雲はしばしば幸福に例えられるようですが、その理由が分かりませんでした。けれども、昨秋異国の地に向かう機窓から雲を見たとき、なるほど湧いてくる感じが幸福に例えられるのだなと思いました。
