“A quarrel on a snail’s horn”

I found this phrase in “A Dictionary of Proverbs for Conversation”.  It is derived from the Chinese classic “Zhuangzi”, and is said to come from a fable about “two countries located on the left and right horns of a snail that are fighting over territory.”  The phrase is meant to convey that even issues people consider major and fight over are, from a cosmic perspective, insignificant.  I am not quite sure whether that is a large or small scale of thought.

＜蝸牛角上争何事＞

「会話で使える諺辞典」に出てきました。中国の古典、荘子に由来する言葉で、「かたつむりの左右の角の上にある二つの国が、領土争いをしている」という寓話から、人間が大きな問題だと思って争っていることも、宇宙的な視点から見れば取るに足らないことだという意味を表しているそうです。スケールが大きいのか、小さいのかよく分かりません。
