I happened to find this passage that means “For what purpose do people fight on a small place like horns of a snail?”  Apparently, it refers to fighting over pointless, small matters from a broader perspective.

This idea must be meaningful.  Still, sometimes seeing through a position of people actually involved, you can’t make comments so lightly.

Remembering variety of events that happened when I was young, I can’t help thinking like the above.

「蝸牛角上争何事」ふと見つけた一節です。

「かたつむりの角のような小さな狭い場所で、（人々は）いったい何を争っているのか」という意味で、大局から見ると意味のないような小さい事柄で争うことを言うようですが、実際に関わっている人からすれば、時としてことはそんなに簡単ではない。

若い頃のことを思い出すと尚更そう考えるのです。
