More and more “new” kinds of vegetables and fruits that weren’t around decades ago are seen in the fresh produce sections of grocery stores.

That is also true with flowers.  We find more and more “new flowers”.  These must have been around for long but they are found only recently at ordinary flower shops.  

Interestingly, this is called “kangaroo paw” and more interesting is its flower languages are “mystery, astonishment” and “potentiality” above all.

お野菜や果物など、何十年前には見かけなかった新しい種類のものをスーパーの生鮮食品売り場で見かけるようになっています。

お花も同じように昔はなかったなと思う種類のものを見かけます。これは昔からあったのでしょうけれど、お花屋さんで最近見かけるようになったと思います。

面白いことには、カンガルーポー（カンガルーの前脚）という名前だそうです。もっと面白いのは、花言葉で、「不思議、驚き」、そして何より「可能性」だそうな。
