This is one of the subdivided phrases according to the solar term system and is allocated to the period around the middle of August.  It only says a kind of cicadas begin making noise with their wings.

All through the summer season, the cicadas’ noise has been too loud.  While, the name of the cicada here implies approaching of the fall season.  But unfortunately, I think I haven’t heard its somewhat melancholic sound this summer yet.

However, when I took a walk early in the morning, I noticed some pleasant singing of crickets or some other kinds of insects in the grass, which I just hope to hear more soon.
