〜Food to be preserved 亡母も得意でした〜

Around this time of year, I sometimes see plums dried in the gardens of houses to be umeboshi or a kind of traditional food consisting of preserved plums.  My late mother was a very good umeboshi maker who made beautiful umeboshi every year.  A funny thing about this is she never ate umeboshi because she hated tartness.

Imitating the stars in the sky/

この時期には、ときに梅干し用の梅を土用干ししておられるご家庭を見つけます。亡母も梅干し作りは得意で、毎年とても綺麗な梅干しを作っていました。本人は酸味が嫌いで、絶対に食べませんでしたが。
