〜Beginning part   お経を色紙に〜

Responding to my request for favorite words, someone told me the last two lines of a Buddhist sutra. 

This time, I wrote the first part of the same sutra.

If you have a favorite character or phrase that you would like Calligrapher Chio to write, please let her know by sending it (them) to her address,　chio_art@yushokai.com. 

Requests for Chio’s calligraphy are accepted at chio_art@yushokai.com as well.

先日好きな言葉をお尋ねしたら、あるお経の最後の2行を教えてくださった方がいました。

今度は初めの部分を書いてみました。

〜Buddhist sutras 2度目のトライ〜

In response to my request for a favorite character or word, someone suggested the last part of a Buddhist sutra, a strong, clear expression of determination by Amitabha Buddha to save every one and all the people in the world, no matter what cost would be involved.

Then I thought it would be my first time to write passages from sutras.  However, I remembered a little later that I wrote a part of the Heart Sutra following someone’s suggestion for the group exhibition I held in summer, 2011.

The second photo shows at the bottom glass balls with a part of the Heart Sutra by my calligraphy.

お好きな字や言葉を教えてくださいとお願いしたところ、嘆佛偈というお経の最後の一節を挙げた方がいました。これは、阿弥陀仏の、どんな苦難があろうともすべての衆生を救うという厳しい決意表明のようです。

そこで、お経を書くのは初めて・・・と思いましたが、ふと2011年夏に主催したグループ展のために、般若心経の一節を書いたことを思い出しました。これも人から提案を受けてのことでしたが、2番目の写真の下部に私の手による般若心経の載ったガラス玉が写っています。
