〜“Thinking of you”　いつもの反対〜

Although I often arrange ancient characters in the background and letters used at present in front, I tried a reverse manner today.

〜Name of a famous star 『この字が好きリクエスト』から〜

One of my friends who enjoys looking up at the night sky while taking a walk responded to my request for favorite letter(s) or word(s) and suggested his favorite star name, 昴Sterope.  And I checked about it and found out that it isn’t one isolated star but looks like six connected stars to human eyes (actually, there are much more stars) and so it is also called 六連星 or six connected stars in Japan.

Now, it reminds me that I have always wondered why the ancient letter for star looks more like an “alien” rather than a “star”.

散歩中に夜空を見上げるのが好きな友人が、好きな字として「昴」を挙げてくれました。それで少し調べてみると、これは独立した一つの星ではなくて、六つの星が連なって見える（実際にはもっとずっと多い）ので日本では「六連星」とも呼ばれていると分かりました。

そこで私が思うのは、「星」という字の昔の形って、どうしてこんなふうに星っぽくなくて、どちらかと言うと宇宙人っぽいのかしら？　といつも思う、ということです。

〜Contrast, comparison, counterpoint　古代文字〜

Now I think I haven’t written pieces of this favorite theme of mine for a while, that is, contrast of the letters used nowadays and

ancient letters.  Putting them side by side will make an interesting work, I believe.  The one written in dark ink is a modern form and the one in pale ink is ancient form of 楽.

.

この大好きなテーマの作品もしばらく書いていない気がします、つまり今使っている文字と古代文字。並べて書くと面白い。
