Bibliomancy

12.11

I tried bibliomancy using a book by Ms. Yukari Ishii (in Japanese).

As a matter of fact, I am tempted to write small letters using a fine brush from time to time.

The passage goes something like:

Even the people who share the same “place” or “concern” can be seeing different pictures.

Some people are thinking only of themselves.

Some are merely thinking about only one person.

Some can have a total prospect.

Some are able to view themselves from outside the circle.

Fallen leaves

12.10 12,10

The other day, I wrote the maple leaves around Shimogamo Shrine always color a little later than elsewhere. And the grounds are now covered with red leaves.

Written oracle

12.9 12,9

This is a written oracle in the form of a tanka I drew on the day of the memorial service for old, used brushes. It was actually “expected good fortune in the future”, which might be a euphemism for “unlucky” in some shrines and temples. However, I was very glad I drew this one. Naturally, it is much better to expect blessing in the future than to be at the peak at present.

“Beautiful is the color of the young leaves which are now coming out. For, you see a bright and prosperous future full of blooming flowers and growing fruits.”

How will the Geminis spend the week?

Here is a quotation by Ms. Yukari Ishii’s (in Japanese) comment from the astrological point of view for the Geminis for the week starting from December 8, which roughly goes something like:

In this period, your “desire for something” may activate a treasurable communication between you and someone else.

One of the flowering trees in the winter season

12.7 12,7

Now I am remembering almost one year ago, when a funeral director was putting my late father in a coffin, he suddenly went out into our garden, culled a number of flowers from a little sasanqua (camellia) tree in the corner of the garden and put them in the coffin with my father.

Full Moon in Gemini

12612.6

Stars gift us, Geminis “special time”. (as Ms. Yukari Ishii suggests (in Japanese))

I wonder what kind of special events will come to me. I think I must make them happen.

Sunset glow

125 12.5

When the sunset color is so bright, it gives you a kind of loose fear.

Although I was hurrying home, I was helplessly tempted to take pictures. Still, its beauty yields a feeling of fear

Oh, sunset/

Wish to go/

Somewhere faraway/

I think I chose this haiku just because I with to escape from reality.

Another kind of phrases

12.4

I chose some phrases which are consists of four Chinese characters again. However, this time, I chose phrases that have more powerful meanings, because I am well aware I tend to choose phrases with a girlish taste.

One more thing, I would like to express my gratitude to those who often visit this website.

For the young couple

couple

I wrote this one because I wanted to send a little present for the young couple who practiced calligraphy with me the other day.

I have known the young wife since she was a little baby. Her growing into a cheerful, pleasant and good-hearted woman made me so happy.

Also, I am grateful to them because they responded to my wish that people from abroad be interested in calligraphy and actually try it.

While I was watching the layers of the numerous, red maple leaves, a strange feeling came over me. And that is all I wanted to say by this.
