Early April, cherry trees bear an abundance of gorgeous flowers, which are admired immensely by many people, and at that time, there are no leaves yet. Then as the days go by, the blossoms will fall quite quickly and the trees will be in leaf. And then people’s interest in the cherry trees will fade.
This poem implies that when someone is prosperous many people gather around that person, however, when he or she loses wealth and honor, people will leave.
It may sound harsh, but I think it certainly has a point.
