水星絶賛逆行中その2 On Mercury retrograde

ちょっと家を片付けたら、子供の頃(小学2年、3年、中学2年)の作品が出てきました。どうみても今よりもずっと上手。

1年ぐらい前、水星の逆行中には懐かしい人に会えるなどの嬉しいことが起こると書きましたが、今回はこんな昔の作品が出てきて、これも水星逆行効果かな、と思います。

それから、上の記事に書いている、「第二回グループ展が開けるものなら、わざと水星逆行期間にぶつけようかとも思っています」ですが、皆さまのお力添えによりまして、今年の6月末にこれを実行することが出来ました!

でも何より、押し入れの奥から出てきた子供の頃の作品の裏についている先生の奥さまのメモ書き(私の名前とか)が嬉しくて、懐かしくて少し涙ぐんでしまいました。憧れの女性ですから!

Cleaning our house, I found three of my very old works I wrote when I was a second and third grader at elementary school and when I was in the second year in junior high. And however you look at them you will see they are certainly much better than my recent works.

In an article I posted about a year ago, I wrote that meeting old friends for the first time in years can happen during the period of the Mercury’s retrograde.

And now I realize reuniting with old things also can happen like this during the period.

Now, I am happy to write here that thanks to the assistance from the people around me, I could hold Yushokai’s second exhibition at the end of June this year as I wrote in the article above, “I am even thinking of holding our second group exhibition while the Mercury retrogrades if we could ever make it happen.”

However, above all things, a little memo of my name and other things by the wife of my teacher attached to my works made me nearly in tears with a pang of nostalgia, because she stays as my greatest secret idol forever!

I live in Kyoto, Japan, where I was born and raised. I began practicing calligraphy at age seven under the late Akiyama Kodo, a distinguished master of calligraphy whose calligraphic works are found even today on stone monuments for public parks and fasciae for long-established businesses.
